Yotes, IMO, really need to take a step back and use the draft to take a number one center, they've been stuck in no man's land for far too long!

I don't really see how that's true. They have a potentially generational player in OEL, as well as 3 other high-end D prospects, a very good goalie prospect and on forward they have Domi, Boedker, Perlini and Samuelson to build around.

yes, they are missing the Stamkos like #1 centre, but so are most of the teams in the NHL. It'd be really nice to draft one of those guys, but it's impossible to set yourself up to do it on purpose. Plus, at least half the time, the top guys - Giroux, Kopitar, Bergeron, Getzlaf, Perry, etc. are not high end picks, but mid rounders that teams got lucky on.

What the Coyotes should do is exactly what they are doing - give their youth a chance to play and keep trying to add pieces that will compliment what they have.

I am personally a huge fan of the direction of this team at the current time.

I just believe you can't compete for a Stanley Cup unless you're deep down the middle or you have a great one two punch, as history has shown.

I like their current group of young guys, but, you don't normally win building around a bunch of good wingers, again, as history has shown.

Would the yotes have any interest in Brunner or Ryder ? Both would likely come for a third rounder or cheaper (it's hard to gauge their value and players have gone for far less and far more that are of the same caliber )

That's a good point. However, they could end up looking pretty good down the middle with Hanzal/Gagner/Vermettte and Domi on the way. I mean, it's not a star studded lineup, but it could end up being better than people think. Or maybe it's exactly what people think - it just can't be known right now. However, Hanzal is 6'6 and still young enough to breakout. I really feel like we're in a wait and see mode right now with this team.

As for the question about Brunner and Ryder, I wouldn't want to take ice time away from the young players on the team, so i'd pass.

I have no faith in Brunner but Ryder could be a decent third liner and would add experience I know having young players in the line up is exciting but it's not always a bad thing to give them time. I think we got a pretty similar team as the yotes but we play in a softer conference I personally like Schneider over smith but we will both have a handful of kids manning the point with oel being the best of the bunch for sure I think both teams should push really hard to make the play offs and wouldn't be shocked if both missed or both made it I still have faith in building around a goalie and defense ! Is domi eligible to go back to jr? It if he isn't on the big club does he play in the ahl?

I don't think Domi can go back to Junior. Even if he could what would be the point? If he's not on the Coyotes, which he almost certainly will be, he'll play in Portland.

How is Larson progressing? I have heard some people are disappointed in his development, but do you still see him developing into an elite player?

I love Larsson he is never going to be what oel is or karlsson he is good and everything and not great at any one thing. I honestly thought he was the best defence we had all pre season and to start the year him and Gelinas where our best pair. The problem is Pete deboer. All last season we got to watch Bryce Salvador and volchenkov constantly turn the puck over for grade A scoring chances and break aways also neither of those to can make an outlet pass to save their lives the two of them just ran around lost in their own end or unable to keep up and they only prayer they had was if the puck hit them. The constantly turned pucks over and made timely mistakes often icing the puck because they lacked any sort of transition game and they never ever got benched or scratched or sent down. Larsson would dump the puck in on the wrong side of the ice and be benched and scratched the kid has got (frank)ed around in my mind and last season was all on Lou not buying out volchenkov last season because he refused to have guys on one way deals play in the minors so Larsson and Gelinas both saw time in the ahl because they had two way contracts. This season they both have one way contracts neither would ever clear waivers so I'm really hoping Pete lets these kids play all 82 games and let them make mistakes. We have a decent shot at make the play off but our chances at a cup are slim to none so letting these guys develope this season should only improve them. You know how hard it can be for a defence man to play in the nhl at 18 and is first season he was having a decent year until the injury and the next year they failed him back he is 21 right now and this is likely is first real shot without him being worried about doing one thing wrong and being sent to the minors or press box and if you look he hasn't had hardly any time on the pp so that's a big reason his point production isn't where people hoped but again scoring points will never be his game he will or should be a great two way defence man. If you look at a guy like dougie Hamilton you see a player who looks to already be better then Larsson to the blind fan but Larsson would likely be farther along if he had chara as his partner even for one season. No player on the ice is going to (frank) with you if chara is your partner allowing you to play with all the confidence in the world. If you ask him he will be a really good 3-4 guy for sure and possibly a number 2 guy I actually think of the bunch severson might be the best but I also love Gelinas and his cannon. So to answer your question I wouldn't call him a bust yet and certainly not till the end of this season I just think he needs a year of consistent minutes and he will be back on the right track.

Honestly, not sure. I would assume that the Coyotes would play Vermette, Gagner and Hanzal as their top three centres and thus that if Domi makes the team, he will play wing, at least for his first year.

I also like how the 'yotes are forming .hopefully they are not stupid like the press and fire one of the best coaches in the league .muloney is also an excellent G.M , very patient like Lombardi in L.A.He will get his centre with one of his D you can be assured of that.i think the 'yotes will surprise this year which shouldn't be much of a surprise

Turns out he is eligible to go back to junior. Still, whats the point of that? It would shock me if he did.
